(NASDAQ: THQI) and Zuffa, LLC, today announced that they have reached an agreement to transfer THQ’s exclusive, worldwide license with Zuffa to publish videogames based on the Ultimate Fighting Championship® (UFC®) brand to Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ: EA), effective today, in exchange for an undisclosed cash payment to THQ.

      “Over the last three years, THQ has delivered best-in-class, all-encompassing experiences to MMA fans, sports enthusiasts and fighting gamers around the globe with its UFC Undisputed™ series. We want to thank them for their stewardship of our brand," said Lorenzo Fertitta, Chairman and CEO of Zuffa. “We look forward to joining forces with EA to leverage their sports platform, and expand our brand in the video game space.”

    • THQ stated they still plan on releasing the UFC Undisputed 3 patch and keeping the servers up and running for the foreseeable future.


      Von Operation Sports, die in sowas sehr fachkundig sind. Heißt also, daß es noch einen Patch zu UFC3 geben wird und daß die Server noch eine Zeit lang weiterlaufen werden. Mal sehen wie lange.
    • Also ich bin in dem Bereich ja ein totaler Noob daher jetzt bitte nicht böse werden... aber wieso sollten die Server abgeschaltet werden? Wäre das nicht eine totale Frechheit? Das Spiel steht noch gar nicht so lang ein den Spielregalen und wenn es sich jemand kauft will er es doch auch online spielen können? Die UFC 09 Server laufen ja auch noch. Also ich würde ein Abschalten der Server mal so überhaupt gar nicht verstehen, daher verwundern mich Nachrichten bezüglich das Thema "Server" immer wieder. Für mich ist es ganz normal das die Server laufen.... Nur weil sie das näcshte UFC Spiel nicht entwickeln heisst es ja nicht das man nun alles vorherige abschaltet? ...
      Wenn ich mir ein älteres Spiel (z.b. Fifa 2009) kaufe will ich auch das man es online spielen kann :rolleyes: Ich weiss das der Vergleich jetzt hinkt weil es EA ist, aber mir fällt halt gerade nichts anderes ein xD
    • das wäre ja eine Frechheit!was sollen wir dann in der Liga spielen?>:( bin immer noch der Meinung das MMA 2 genau so schlecht sein wird, wie MMA1.. was mich im Moment mehr interessiert, was wohl neue Patch bringt? ich hoffe sehr das der Simmodus eingeführt wird, online ( ranked).

      Naja aber bringt es nicht noch mehr einbußen wenn jeder weiss das die Server bei den UFC Undisputed spielen nicht mehr laufen und die Verkaufszahlen extrem sinken? Ich finde jedes Spiel wo die Server nicht mehr laufen sollte mit nem fetten Sticker "NICHT ONLINE" ausgestattet sein.... denn schließlich steht hinten auf der Verpackung es wäre online möglich usw.. ^^
    • müsste ja inzwischen eh jeder wissen, was für n mist der online-part von undisputed is... ^^ ich denke nicht, dass das spiel so noch großartig geld bringt...

      un ob dann die laufenden kosten nich höher sin, als das bisschen, was das spiel noch einbringt, keine ahnung... aber vorstellen könnt ich's mir...

      aber ich bin mir ziemlich sicher, dass die schon noch ne weile laufen werden ;)

      Liefen sie denn irgendwann? (kleiner Scherz)
      Wenn THQ pleite geht, wonach es ja stark aussieht , sind die Server aus. Weil sie ja keiner mehr finanziert. Also Daumen drücken. Aber keine Angst, spätestens auf den next gen Konsolen kommt EA mit nem super UFC Spiel. Wenn wir Glück haben auch noch mit einem guten WWE Titel!
