      Es stimmt also doch!

      UFC Boss Dana White confirms threats to blacklist fighters if they jump on EA’s MMA game.

      Remember those crazy rumors about Dana White blacklisting fighters who signed up to be in EA’s new MMA game? Yeah, well guess what? They’re true.

      “EA Sports told us, ‘You’re not a real sport,’” White said. “‘We wouldn’t touch this thing. We want nothing to do with this.’”

      I don’t really know what fighting words are, but them MUST BE fighting words!! To summerize the backstory, one day UFC wanted to make a new video game, they had a talk with EA Sports and EA Sports were jerks. At least that’s what Dana White says.

      “We put our asses on the line, THQ and the UFC, to make a video-game deal in the worst economy in the world,” White said. “We go out there and do this thing, and it’s successful, and now [expletive] EA Sports wants to do a video game. Really? That’s not what you told us a year-and-a-half ago.”


      Go ahead and add “extremely” right before successful, UFC Undisputed 2009 has reportedly shipped over 2 million copies in around 2 months. I think that fact is enough of an incentive for EA Sports to make a new MMA game. Now, not to piss off a guy who can kick my ass, but i could see why EA didn’t take the offer to make a game based on UFC a year and a half ago. UFC wasn’t as popular as they are now, so it could have been considered a risk, but calling MMA/UFC not a “real sport”? It’s probably the most ignorant comment i ever heard from a 3rd party (3rd party as in another person, not a 3rd party publisher).

      Dana White then states that he is in war against EA and is trying to keep it real with the UFC fans. He clearly says that any fighter who signs up to be in this game they will not be in UFC. According to the article at MMAjunkie.com, there has been reports of Nick Diaz, Mohammed “King Mo” Lawal, Jason “Mayhem” Miller and Jake Shields being tied to the EA Sports game, but currently, no one is confirmed.

      Dana White seems to be taking this matter seriously as he very well should. UFC Undisputed 09 was not only a critically acclaimed game, but a game that created an enormous amount of interest in UFC and the sport of MMA in general.

      “You know what the difference is?” White asked. “I’m in the mixed martial arts business. EA isn’t. EA doesn’t give a [expletive] about mixed martial arts. They made that very clear.”

      Kann mir nur nicht vorstellen, wenn bei EA ein Fighter mitmacht, der so famous ist und anschließend jede Organisation den haben will, dass Dana "Nein" sagen würde. Glaube ich nicht.

    • aber für die kleineren namen wäre es schon ein grund dort nicht einzusteigen. und ein spiel mit 5 großen namen alleine würd ea ja auch nix bringen. mal sehen wie es weitergeht. ich kann den bekloppten dana abr auch verstehen. erst lachen sie ihn aus und jetzt wollen sie auf den zug aufspringen.

      EA’s Peter Moore kind of responds to the declaration of war made by UFC boss Dana White.You’re probably thinking this is pretty stupid to post, but since i posted what Dana White said, it would only be fair to hear the opposing side. And man, is it a doozy!

      I know there has been some recent discussion about EA SPORTS bringing a challenger to this sport. I love mixed martial arts, and we’ve been working on a game concept since I came to (sic) two years ago. I have great respect for the organizations and individuals that have invested in the sport’s growth over the past decade – so this is one that is near and dear to me and I’m excited to see such good progress to date. I trace my MMA video game roots back to my support of Crave’s UFC title on the Dreamcast in 2000, and have been a fan ever since. Our title will bring both innovation and further authenticity to mixed martial arts, not to mention a strong global publishing network that will help spread the sport’s popularity around the world.

    • Hm... wenn ich das jetzt richtig verstanden habe, sagt er nur, dass er bei UFC200 mitgemacht hat und das ea mma den Sport noch populärer machen wird.
      Aber mal ehrlich, wenn jetzt ein unbekannter Fighter bei EA dabei ist, dann in 2 Jahren ein Weltstar ist, der Massen begeistert glaubt ihr wirklich Dan sagt dann:"Nein, du würdest mir zwar millionen bringen aber du warst damals bei eamma dabei"???
      Das ist ein Bluff oder marketing aber auf keinen Fall ernst zu nehmen. Hoffe ich jedenfalls denn wenn er es ernst meint ist er ja schlimmer als Mc Mahon und das geht eigentlich nicht... oder doch?

    • glaub nich das er es SO ernst meint... aber dana hält schon sein wort.... er sagte z.b. damals das kimbo slice NUR über die The Ultimate Fighter in die UFC kommt... Er stand ohne Liga da und meinte NEIN er würde NICHT zu TUF gehen sondern will direkt in die UFC... tjia war wohl nich.. nun ist er doch bei The Ultimate Fighter.

      Ich frage mich ob EA MMA Fighter wie Vitor Belfort / Shamrocks etc. bekommt.. die EHEMALIGEN UFC'ler... und sogar Hall of Famer ;) ... Wäre ja schon ne fiese Sache und würde das Spiel aufjedenfall intressanter machen, denn ohne Namen wie Shamrock(s), Emelianenko, Belfort könnte es ja evt bisschen schwer werden.. auch für das Cover ;) ...

      Ich bin gespannt.

      Was den UFC Patch angeht.. so ist er für mich gar nicht SO ultra wichtig, bis auf die Online Sache. Ich bin da eher auf UFC Undisputed 2010 gespannt.

    • denke mal EA wird Leute wie Arlovski,Emelianenko, Barnett,.. zu sich holen. Und ich glaube es wird auch Randy Coutour geholt. Da er mit Dana nicht mehr so gut Freund ist. Da er angeblich zu alt sei.

    • hm solange couture allerdings in der ufc tätig ist... denke ich nicht das er sich von nem anderen game holen lässt.. vor allem da es ihm ja wohl wirklich um seinen namen geht...

      und in den ufc99 videos, wie couture mit in köln war und beim raab war etc. sahen sie doch ziemlich gut wie best friend aus ..

      Arlovski im EA game UND in ufc undisputed? Glaub ich auch nich so ganz.. klar möglich aber dann wären auch leute wie Tito Ortiz, Mirko Cro Cop oder Chuck Liddell möglich die derzeit nicht in der ufc aktiv sind... wären dann immer mehr und ich sag mal "fasst alle wichtigen" xD

      dann wären es ja so gesehen arlovski, chuck liddell, mirko cro cop, fedor emelianenko, tito ortiz, tank abbott, ken shamrock, frank shamrock, don frye, dan sveren, kimo leopoldo, vitor belfort, kevin randleman, bas rutten, barnett, randy couture und und und.. das wären jetzt schon mehr gute namen als in ufc undisputed verfügbar sind meiner Meinung nach... :O glaub nich das es möglich ist leute fürs EA game zu verpflichten wennse schon im UFC Undisputed sind.. glaub die ham da schon irgendwas kleingedrucktes unterschrieben das sie nirgendswo anders sein dürfen ^^

    • hm dann sabbelte dana white mal wieder mist das er direikt gekündigt worden ist ... im style von "mir tanzt keiner auf der nase herum"... anscheinend doch ;)

      das comeback war mir schon bewusst, schließlich stand ich nen meter daneben xD allerdings hieß es danach ganz groß das dana white ihn rausgeschmissen hat weil er angeblich bei DREAM antritt, was wohl doch nicht zu 100% bestätigt worden ist... und somit ist er wohl doch noch bei der ufc... na denn

It was later confirmed at the UFC Fan Expo by Fertitta that Mirko had indeed signed a three fight contract with the UFC. Reportedly Mirko will face Junior dos Santos at UFC 103.



      naja is ja auch ejal, er würde glaub ich eh nich im EA GAME auftachen wenn er in undisputed vorhanden ist....

    • es gab ja auch ufc-cafs, doch mittlerweile ist die seite down, warum auch immer. da gabs bereits richtig viele gute cafs. die werden nach und nach aber bei mma caf eingestellt. hab auch vorgestern ne anfrage bekommen, ob die meine cafs dort einstellen dürfen.

      weiß jemand, warum ufc-cafs nicht mehr on ist?

      Ja das ist das Einzige was bei mir auch funktioniert. Aber online seh ich immer wieder, wie mein Gegner mich aus der open guard tritt und selber in die open guard kommt. Wie geht dass!? Will dass auch können :)

    • So ich will jetzt auch nochmal was loswerden. Mir gefällt das Spiel echt super gut. die Techniken die Grafik und vieles mehr ist wirklich gut umgesetzt.

      Trotzdem kleine Kritiken: 1. Die Einmärsch fehlen. mir ist sowas beim Spiel sehr wichtig. 2. Mir fehlt auch das die kämpfer nicht nachgehen bei einem KO normaler weise schlagen die danach immernoch auf einen ein.
      3. man kann nicht so richtig auf einen Einschlagen wenn ihr wisst was ich meine. wie wenn brock lesnar auf jemand am boden einschlägt.

    • Zu 1. Ist natürlich Geschmackssache schaden täte es auf jeden Fall nicht.
      Zu2. Gibt es! Ist sehr selten aber manchmal, wenn jemand gerade fällt und Ko ist kann man nachschlagen/treten.
      Zu3. Ja das fehlt mir auch. Geht zwar teilweise in der Fullmount z.B. Körperschläge aber bei UFC1 z.B. gab es auch Combos in der Fullmount.
